It is furnished to a very high standard and is located by a Nature Reserve. If you would like to know more, please call me to discuss.
Our one bed apartment on Drury Lane is available from 2 nights, however, the owner would prefer a Corporate Let and we welcome any enquiries for longer a longer term.
Castle View Cottage has always been popular. It is a quiet time of the year and so we offer this property at a slightly lower rate through January and sometimes into February. Again, please call me if you would like to discuss rates.
We continue to act as agents for many property owners in Lincoln, and so if we do not have what you are looking for, there is no harm in ringing me to see what I can find for you...I am very familiar with the area and am happy to find a suitable property for you or your clients.
Wishing you all a healthy happy and prosperous 2012
Alison
Please take a look at our website

Through the City Council, a Business Improvement Group is energetically working with local business and residents allowing the street to respond to the changing economic and social pressures of today.
“The Academy believes this care for our historic urban fabric whilst looking to the future should be recognised and rewarded,” Murray added.
Matt Corrigan, Chief Executive of Lincoln BIG, said: “This is brilliant news, Steep Hill is a really special place, and Lincoln BIG is delighted that its unique charm has been recognised this way.
“I think it makes us all realise that it’s not just one of Lincoln’s but one of the county’s unique and special places.
“For visitors, going up the hill is not a chore – it’s part of Lincoln’s charm, and is a special experience that rivals anything that any other world-class historic place can offer.”
City Councillor Neil Murray said: “We’re delighted that Steep Hill has been given the Great Street Award, and that the Academy of Urbanism recognised what a fantastic, unique place it is.
“It was great to show Steep Hill to the assessors, and I’d like to thank everyone who submitted photos – proving how passionate people are about it.”
The other winners were: European City of the Year – Lisbon, Portugal; The Great Town Award – Derry~Londonderry, Northern Ireland; The Great Neighbourhood of the Year – Old Town / Harbour, Margate; and The Great Place of the Year – Victoria Quarter, Leeds.
Please take a look at our website

Three decades have been interlaced with surprising and unexpected meetings with God. These 'encounter' times have created great memories but have also positioned us for active involvement in the years ahead. As we move forward, the words of Moses have prophetic importance: "If Your presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here".
We need the distinguishing mark of God's presence. Sometimes fire, sometimes wind and sometimes a still small voice. Often unexpected and always undeserved.
Let's press forward for more!
Please take a look at our website

The day starts at 9.30am with a briefing from either your pilot or/and a crew member and the day's co-ordinator. There are two tail down taxy runs on our VIP days one at 11am and the other at 1.30pm and places are limited to 18/20 people enjoying a taxy ride per VIP day. The 20 riders in the VIP party are divided into two groups with 10 on the 11am run and 10 on the 1.30pm run. The benefit of there being two taxy runs is that you ride on one and watch the other at close quarters. The taxy ride is completely unique and very different to the experience from outside the aircraft.

There is a lunch prepared especially for our VIP guests at 12 Noon. You can eat alongside the pilot and Lancaster ground crew providing you with another opportunity to ask them any technical questions and time to talk Lancasters! The VIP option offers you much longer inside the aircraft, boarding approx half an hour before your taxy run for your look around the first half of the aircraft, we also give you plenty of time after the run for you to complete your tour of the other half. All guests have the opportunity to sit in/visit each position throughout the aircraft whilst the aircraft is static and have the tour of the cockpit with the chance to sit in the pilot's seat. Whilst you are looking around the aircraft we have crew members on board to answer any questions you may have. Morning coffee, afternoon tea and homemade cake are also included on these days.

Guest option
There is also the chance for the person enjoying the taxy ride to bring a guest who gets the whole day, including a look inside the Lancaster and tour of the cockpit, but not the taxy ride for £70.00. The VIP day is run in a far more leisurely manner, providing you with time to absorb the airfield's history and sounds. Again all guests go home with a certificate signed by the pilot who has done the taxy run that day.

Price- £285.00 Places MUST be pre-booked!

For enquiries email:- louise@lincsaviation.co.uk

Gift vouchers for our Taxy Ride Experiences which are ideal for Birthdays and Christmas.
Please take a look at our website

It is being developed into more of a Fringe style festival with options for you to buy tickets to just those features you wish to attend.

Friday and as usual the Steampunks will begin to gather around the Victoria during the afternoon. Control will open at 4pm and you will be able to claim your wristbands.

Friday night will see "Friday Night at the Asylum". (400 tickets) This is envisaged as a party night with up to four new bands showcasing their acts for the delights of the steampunk community. The Major will once again be hosting his celebrated Soiree. Music hall enters the 21st century. (120 tickets). The Victoria will be having an open access mini beer festival this evening too.

Saturday morning the Asylum will open its doors at 10.00 with exhibitors, publishers and guests in the main hall and a full programme of features and panels in the Little Theatre and Drawing Room. The Castle Lounge will host the annual exhibition with entries for the covetted Verne, Brunel, Pugin, Rosetti and Ruskin awards. Also on Saturday the Bazaar Eclectica will be opening its doors in the Castle Prison.

Special guests for Saturday include the inimitable Wilf Lunn, creative genius and boater wearer extraordinaire. A Doctor Who theme for the Exhibition Hall will have a cracking photo op and a chance to meet the highly entertaining Fraser Hines. Of course the Asylum wouldn't be the Assylum without the entertaining presence of world reknowned author and raconteur Robert Rankin.

Saturday night and the Asylum is turned over to the Third Annual Empire Ball. (300 tickets) A change in style for 2011 with the first half for dancing to recorded music and a buffet meal. Guest acts and Sunday Driver will take the stage before more dancing until late.

Professor Elemental will be joining you all once again too. A change of style at our second venue on Saturday night with "Putting the Punk in Steampunk" (250 tickets) hosted by The Men Who Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing plus support.

Sunday morning and the Asylum and Bazaar Eclectica open their doors for more trading, exhibiting, panels and workshops until the closing and awards ceremony at 4m.

Tickets are now on sale and selling incredibly quickly through our automated portal. There is a classic Asylum pass which grants access to the full day programme and exhibits, the Empire Ball and Friday Night at the Asylum. All features will also be available for purchase seperately too allowing you the opportunity to prearrange the festival you wish to attend.

Organisers are looking at possibly staging other fringe events and features during the course of the weekend. They are hoping to have a Siege of Peking dinner on Sunday night as well as a Dead Dog Party. Details will be posted as soon as they are fixed.
Keep an eye on the main web site!

Please note: We are not looking for street performance etc as part of this event. We would like to consider applications from static exhibits e.g. steam engines, organs, period vehicles etc.
Please take a look at our website

It is located on Hungate, just at the base of Michaelgate, close to Lincoln Cathedral & Lincoln Castle.
There are 4 large bedrooms, 2 with en-suite facilities. Guests can enjoy a large open plan kitchen diner with separate utility and cloakroom on the ground level.
There is a stunning living room on the top floor with plenty of room for 8 people to sit and enjoy each others company.
Just as Hotels in Lincoln provide quality bedding and towels, we do too. Including aromatherapy based toiletries.
We may not be a Bed and Breakfast, but we do provide all our guests with a Welcome Basket which provides fresh milk, bread, butter, coffee, jam, other beverages, sugar and of course a bottle of wine!!
It is common knowledge that Lincoln's City Hotels are limited with parking! All our properties offer free parking. Another bonus!
But most of all we offer great value with all our 4 Gold Star rated houses.
Spring Hill Town House is just £26.25 per person per night when 8 of you share for 3 nights!!
A weekend break for 8 people is just £32.50 per person per night.
If anyone would like to contact me to ask any questions, please do not hesitate!
My office number is 01522 530274 or mobile 07795477780
I hope to see you soon!!
Many thanks
Alison
Please take a look at our website

We want Wickham Gardens to be a pleasant and safe place for families to come and to remind people what an asset it is to the uphill area of Lincoln. So, bring along a blanket and a picnic and enjoy this space which has provided a recreation area for the people of Lincoln for nearly 100 years.”

Wickham Gardens has been a play area for generations of children in the uphill area of Lincoln since the land was donated to the City by a former Dean of Lincoln Cathedral, the late Canon Wickham, in 1914. Last year the City of Lincoln Council proposed to sell the site for development, but protests from the local community resulted in the land being kept for recreation use.

SWINGS (Save Wickham Gardens, Infants Need Green Spaces) campaigned for the land to be retained as a play area, and the group are now working with the City of Lincoln Council to improve the site and raise funds to replace the play equipment which was removed, for Health and Safety reasons, by the Council in 2010.

To help with the ‘Big Tidy Up’ just turn up at Wickham Gardens on Saturday 4th June at 11am. All equipment will be provided. ‘The Big Lunch’ will start at 12noon and families are invited just to turn up and bring a picnic.

PHOTO AND INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES
Please take a look at our website

A new bistro championing locally sourced and produced food and drink is opening up on the site of the former Yots Bar and Bistro on Burton Waters.

The Deli Bistro, which specialises in Lincolnshire cheeses, quality meats and home-made cakes and pastries, opened its doors to the public for the first time today (Friday 1st April).

Run by Craig Gollin of Craig Gollin Catering Services and his wife Caroline the restaurant will also have a delicatessen selling local produce and freshly prepared food to take away.

Craig started training as a chef from the age of 17 and has over 13 years’ experience in the industry. Between 2003 and 2008 he worked as a head chef at The Lawn in Lincoln catering for corporate buffets through to banquets of up to 300 people.

Craig set up his own business in March 2008 and has established an allotment where he grows a lot of the produce he uses in his catering business.

Qualified nutritionist Caroline also brings a wealth of food-related experience and is currently working for the Food for Life Partnership as well as lecturing part-time at the University of Lincoln.

Caroline is keen to involve the students and the community in the new business and will be displaying and selling work by local artists as well as furniture maker and recent graduate Sebastian Cox.

Caroline explained: “We launched an art competition and invited students to design a piece of work based on the theme of local and seasonal produce. Everyone who came to our opening party was asked to vote for the piece they liked the best.

“The winner was Faith Wibberley (31) who is studying Illustration and coincidently will be working as a waitress in the bistro! Faith’s work will have exclusivity in the bistro for the next six weeks and we won’t charge her any commission on the pieces she sells.”

Caroline has also enlisted the help of Business Studies and Marketing students to help launch the new bistro and Craig is currently training three apprentices to become chefs. Altogether Craig and Caroline have created 12 new jobs across both their businesses which they’ll be running alongside each other.

The Deli Bistro will be open Monday to Wednesday 10am till 6pm, Thursday to Saturday 10am till 11pm and Sunday 11.30am till 4.30pm and will offer breakfast, lunch, afternoon teas and dinner.

The lunchtime, evening and dessert menus can be found online at www.craiggollincatering.co.uk along with details of how to book.

See you at The Deli Bistro very soon!
Please take a look at our website

According to the Domesday Book, 166 Saxon homes were cleared to make way for the castle.

Until the construction of Lincoln Cathedral, the castle dominated the Lincoln skyline.

Lincoln was one of the most important cities in the country. It had a mint. The size of the Norman castle reflects its importance.

The view from the castle is still impressive, even today. In one direction, out along the River Witham, Bardney and beyond. In the other direction can be seen the power stations in the Trent Valley.

The castle walls are still intact, and it is possible to walk around most of the wall.

The castle is unusual in that it has two mottes. It is only one of two such castles in the country, the other being at Lewes in Sussex.

The Observatory Tower is built in one of the mottes. The original tower was built 1150 towards the end of The Anarchy (the war between Stephen and his cousin Matilda for control of the throne). Later additions were added in the 14th century. The tower, as we see it today, was added by the prison governor John Merryweather, nominally as a observation post to catch escapees, but in reality, as he was a keen astronomer, for star gazing. During World War II it was used as a fire-watch post.

The other motte is the Lucy Tower. Built in the 12th century by the Castle Constable, the Countess Lucy, this was the castle's main keep, built to replace an existing building. Originally it was surrounded by a 20-foot ditch with a bridge leading to the steps. It was the castle's last line of defence. Within the tower are the graves of prisoners executed at Lincoln.

One of the prisoners whose graves can be found within the Lucy Tower is that of William Frederick Harry, hanged 1 April 1872 for the murder of his wife. His grave is marked with his initials.

The main entrance to the castle is the East Gate from Castle Square. The West Gate has been recently re-opened. The West Gate was important in Medieval times as it led out into open country.

Opposite the newly opened gate is the The Lawn. The main feature of The Lawn is the Sir Joseph Banks Tropical Conservatory.

For 900 years, Lincoln Castle has been used as a castle, a prison and as a court. The Crown Court still sits within the castle. Embedded within the castle walls are the castle dungeons.

Housed within Lincoln Castle is a copy of the original Magna Carta. It is currently on loan from Lincoln Cathedral, and has its own dedicated exhibition.

There are only four surviving copies of the original Magna Carta: two in the British Museum, and one each held by Salisbury Cathedral and Lincoln Cathedral.

Dating from the Middle Ages, The Magna Carta is the most important document conferring democracy and civil rights. It is embedded in English Common Law and has been quoted and drawn on throughout the ages, from the US Constitution (especially the Bill of Rights) through to the UN Charter.

The Medieval Castle Well is believed to be of Roman origin.

The strategic importance of Lincoln Castle cannot be overstated. It had commanding views over the surrounding countryside, it was located on two Roman roads, The Fosse Way and Ermine Street. It also overlooked Brayford Pool, and a waterway that ran from the coast at Boston via the Roman Canal to the Trent.

The castle as we see it today, was the inner bailey. The outer bailey encompassed the then existing town.

The Castle is increasingly being used for concerts and theatrical productions.
Please take a look at our website

It is simply pressed then filtered, bottled labelled and packaged on site.
The result of this single-rapeseed crop cold pressed oil is a product that's even healthier than olive oil. Cold pressed rapeseed oil has just 6% saturated fat! - olive oils have around 14%, sunflower around 10%- the fat that contributes to heart disease, diabetes and obesity!!
Oleifera oil provides high levels of Omega 3 6 and 9. Happy cooking...The Best of Lincolnshire
Please take a look at our website

The main attraction however is the participants themselves. Up to 1000 well dressed and well mannered steampunks enjoying the delightful "Steampunk Quarter" of Lincoln.

Unlike many conventions and festivals The Asylum is what might be termed a "campus" event. They use several venues but all within a stones throw of each other in the historic quarter of Lincoln. This year's venues are Lincoln Castle, The Lawns, Charlotte House and The Victoria Inn.

The Asylum is organised and run by the Victorian Steampunk Society which is a not-for-profit organisation which exists to promote the Steampunk Community in the UK. People attending are granted associate membership of the VSS so the event is in effect a series of private functions but the colourful nature of Steampunk means we also make quite an impression on the City.

Worth popping over to Lincoln!
Please take a look at our website

Available from July 14th

We have recently been asked to market a stunning 2 bed apartment on Eastgate by Lincoln Cathedral. This annexe to Disney Place has two double (en-suite) bedrooms, a lounge, conservatory and the most stunning garden!
It is available from the 12th July for just 2 months and we are offering it to guests from just a 2 night stay.
The annexe is part of Disney Place and so it's owners have provided their own furniture. The conservatory is normally used by themselves, as too the garden. However, as they are away for this time, we have been given exclusive use of the garden and conservatory.
The kitchen is basic but functional. It is a truly special place and with off street parking, this really is an idyllic spot for anyone looking for a unique experience in Lincoln's exclusive Cathedral Quarter.
We will be popping images onto our site as soon as the re-decorating has finished.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Alison on 01522 530274.
We look forward to welcoming you to The West Wing of Disney Place.
Please take a look at our website

Lincoln Town Houses are just about ready to launch our third property Spring Hill Town House.
This stunning townhouse is located on Spring Hill, opposite The Cheese Society (how convenient)!
It has parking for 2 vehicles and accommodates up to 8 people in 4 double beds. There are two en-suites and a family bathroom. A large living room and a open plan kitchen diner. We have lcd t.v's and dvd recorder, i.pod docking stations and wi-fi access.
Bookings have been coming in thick and fast with June totally booked out!
We have been getting more and more requests for family accommodation in Lincoln and this seemed the perfect place to us. We wanted to experience the tour at RAF Scampton so that we at Lincoln Town Houses, could offer and promote the tours through our web site and directly to our guests.
Formed in November 1916, under the name of Brattleby the Station has been at the forefront of Avaition Technology.
In May 1943 Wing Commander Guy GIbson led the attack against the Mohne and Eder Dams. This earned the Station its 3rd and best known Victoria Cross.
Guy Gibson's black labrador, Nigger, was tragically killed on the night of the Dambusters raid. His grave is at RAF Scampton!
Scampton catered for the Vulcan Bombers in the late fifties till the early eighties. In 1983 Scampton moved from Strike Command over to Support Command. The next decade was when it became base for the World Famous Red Arrows Aerobatics Team.
They remained at Scampton until 1995 when they were moved to RAF Cranwell.
A team from Vosper Thornycroft servicing the Tucano trainer, moved into Scampton and at the end of 2000 the Red Arrows returned.
We were privaledged to meet two of the Red Arrows yesterday after watching them both train for the RAF Waddington Air Show on the 2nd & 3rd July 2010.
The rest of the team are currently in Greece.
Bookings for a tour can be arranged through
Roger Crisp (Dep Curator RAF Scampton Museum) Tel:01522 500738/733029
The tour is approximately 2 hours long. Cameras are permitted with restrictions.
Try to book it when the Red Arrows are on base as the atmosphere is amazing, especially as they land and taxi past you!!
Please take a look at our website

The York Stone is stunning and it enhances the Bailgate a great deal.
Lincoln Town Houses continue to thrive with many local Brides booking our accommodation for their families and friends. We have our regular Barristers who love the location and convenience of the self catering accommodation.
Spring Hill Town House is coming along nicely, we should have the Town House available by mid June and have already taken bookings for this stunning and spacious property.
Waddington Air Show is scheduled for the 3rd & 4th July and this is going to be one of the biggest yet! Bare in mind, last year, there was not a single place to stay in Lincoln over this particular weekend!!! So if you are planning on coming, please book early. We only have Spring Hill Town Houses available for these dates.
The Steam Punk Festival is going to be twice as large as last year and this is scheduled to run on the 10th & 11th September, accommodation will be difficult so our adivce is to book early! Again, we only have Spring Hill Town Houses available!
We are so excited about the newly refurbishe Lincoln Theatre Royal!! It has some amazing shows scheduled for the year, you MUST take a look at their web site which we are always promoting on our home page via Twitter!! and Facebook.
We look forward to welcomming you to Lincoln Town Houses! They have been with us for 13 days. Sadly their trip from St Lucia was to attend the funeral of their much loved son, and brother the popular football manager, Mr Keith Alexander, who died at the age of 53 after suffering a fatal brain haemorrhage.
The funeral was attended by almost 2000 people from all over the world. It was held at Lincoln Cathedral and was truly a wonderful farewell for Keith.
We wish all the family to take comfort in knowing he is at peace.
Please take a look at our website
